Inglenook LLC

Inglenook LLC is a design and construction management company owned and operated by Daniel Schlatter. Inglenook LLC serves clients in the custom residential home building and remodeling market with design or design/build services. 

Why the name Inglenook?

When introducing Inglenook LLC, we like to define “Inglenook” because this architectural feature represents the “essence of home” for people. 

It is described as:  In.gle.nook \-_nuk\ n (1772): a nook by a large open fireplace; also: a bench or settle occupying this nook, a seat in the nook, or corner, near the fire, or ingle

Architects of the Arts and Crafts movement re-introduced this feature in the early 1900s to create an environment that connects with people, the type of detail that makes a house feel like a home.  The inglenook has become a symbol for hearth and home that imparts feelings of sheltering welcome and domestic serenity.

While not every home we build has a traditional inglenook, special effort is made to capture what this symbol represents. 

It is our desire to design and build into every home a level of craftsmanship that evokes this time-honored tradition of the inglenook.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY'S  FIRST CPBD

Daniel Schlatter recently earned the Certified Professional Building Design license of the National Council of Building Design Certification (NCBDC).  The NCBDC is the licensing council of the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD).  The NCBDC Accreditation Program certifies competency of professional building designers in ethics, procedures, architectural styling, structural engineering and construction principles, processes, materials and methods.  This certification involves a review of education and work portfolio as well as 20 hours of examination.  Schlatter is one of 8 CPBD professionals in the state of Indiana.

Daniel Schlatter, owner of Inglenook, LLC., a local design/build company, is vice president of the Builders Association of Kosciusko-Fulton County.  Daniel also holds certification as a Certified Graduate Builder and Certified Green Professional from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB).
